Find Hex Code of solid color set to 50% intensity

Hey all!

How can i find (or generate or whatever...) the "new" Hex code of a solid color (ie. #141F39) that is set to an intensity of lets say 50%? So that i can use that lighter hue as a solid color with no shine through in the end. Is there a short cut to find that new Hex code instead of fiddling around with color settings to get a similiar color?

I already tried it by adjusting the values of HSB & RGB but that is not really giving exact results..

Create a new Global color swatch of your hex color and choose a percentage in the color panel.

Well I'm working on a project and I set some colors for later use. Now I need that 50% hue (as exactly as possible) solid. The red-marked hue is the result I got from trying out your initial advice but as you may see the new color itself is slightly warmer than the 50% intensity-blue on the right...

Alternatively, you could pick a tint from the color guide panel or drag the RGB sliders while holding down the Cmd (or Ctrl) key.

WOW! Didn't know that about the Cmd Key! That is still a little bit of fiddling but It works quite fine for now!

UPDATE: Ton gave me a pretty good answer! Working the RGB while holding down Cmd (Ctrl) gave me that result: 

If anyone knows how to directly convert a lower intensity color to a solid new one, feel free to add some more insights!
