Depending on the style of fonts you seek, Fontbundles.net has some great decorative fonts for free every week, and some inexpensive font and design bundles.

you could try some free font sites such as https://www.fontsquirrel.com/  or https://www.1001fonts.com/ .

You could google free fonts and come up with several websites to download from.

Download and throw them into your system fonts folder or add it to a font management software program such as Suitcase.

you can use google fonts, are you using a font manager?  you should.

you start downloading free fonts and installing to your machine and its only a matter of time before you have font issues.

a font manager will not let you put something bad in it. as in a corrupted font.

please please use a professional font manager if you are going to start installing fonts from unknown sources.

Last, just because they are free is does not mean you can use them for free for commercial use. there will be a "read me" .txt file that will outline what you can use the font for.

or you can avoid all of this if you stick to your type kit.. or adobe fonts that come with your CC subscription.

There's one big issue with Typekit/Adobe Fonts (or any fonts that use this model of licensing): when a font is dropped from the package, you will have to find a different way to license it. There's no guarantee that all fonts stay in it forever since Adobe also has fonts from other foundries in Typekit.

I second CHMprepress - if you have a Creative Cloud subscription, you have access to all the Adobe Fonts (formerly Typekit). If you don't have a CC subscription (maybe you're using CS6 or before) and have a free Adobe ID or want to sign up for one, you can get a bunch of free benefits Benefits of a free Adobe Creative Cloud membership including free use of the basic Adobe Fonts Library.

You can also use Google Fonts.

I suppose you already have done a search for free fonts?

Also: do you have specific needs? Such as fonts for other languages than just English? Or different styles for a typeface?

Fontsquirrel has a nice variety especially aimed at typography professionals.

Mainly English fonts will be good enough. Anything that can work with my software, which is Adobe 2015. I don't have an Adobe Id. My friend gave it to me. I am guessing now it's not licensed product.
