flatten transparency to break text behaviour

Hi community.

 

recently a post has caught me attention how to break up text which can still be edited. One of the solutions where to use the flatten transparency in order to separate the text individually. But doing so, only a portion of the text becomes individually able to be edited, while some of the letters remain together and not individual. What causes some of the letters to be separate and some not to break apart.
