Hallo.

For years i wonder, why there is no easy way in Illustrator to flip horizontal.

I know about the Transform > Reflect > Vertical (?) to flip horizontal...

Then i discovered the Properties panel > Transform panel > little icon with the cute label "Flip along horizontal axis".

Wow! I love it!

but..

How do I apoint a keyboard shortcut to this little fellow?

or maybe it could appear in the right click menu? Next to "Reflect"?

I tried looking for it in the shortcuts, i even tried to record an action with it...

No succes yet.

So maybe I am not the only one who is using "Flip along horizontal axis" practically everyday (...)

and wants it a little easier?

Btw.. I know about "suggestions to adobe for future versions", but maybe someone has already a clever solution?

Thanks.

You cannot edit the contextual menu.

But you could record an action:

    1. doucle click the reflect tool

    2. mirror the thing

Then apply a shortcut to the action.

As far as I can see now, there's no possibility to add a shortcut to the "Flip Horizontal Axes" button in the properties/transform panel. Of course you can change the main Menu shortcuts in the Edit > Keyboard Shortcuts menu (you can make a shortcut for the Edit > Transform > Reflect menu), but that's not what you're asking here

Maybe there is a plugin out there to edit these menu-button shortcuts, or maybe there's some hidden feature, but unfortunately I didn't find one...

The only possibility I know is to add an Action for this, and add a shortcut to that action (via the Actions panel).
