Font droplist not showing

I have Illustrator CS6 on Windows PC and have recently noted that my font list doesn't drop down within any of the font drop down options: Main tool bar/Floating type box/etc. I can see my initial default font "Myriad Pro" plus the secondary drop down list with the font options like Regular/Italic/Bold/etc but I can't select any other fonts.

If I start to type in a font name in the font list box I can then select a font but there are some fonts that I have that appear in my list differently than their name in TypeDNA Font Manager. It's really annoying and time consuming.

Any suggestions on how to fix this would be great.

If Windows 10 is your operating system then you should know that it is constantly automatically updating itself. You should also know that CS6 has never been supported for Windows 10 even though many people have been able to get away with using it on that OS. However, the most recent update to Windows 10 has caused the problem you describe for users of CS6. As Windows 10 continues to update it will only get worse. The only alternatives you have are to try running the computer in compatibility mode with Windows 7 or somehow roll back your OS to Windows 7 or 8.1. Otherwise you will have to get a subscription to creative cloud and update to the latest version of Illustrator (CC 2018).
