Font family problem

Can someone help me with a font problem? 🫠 For a while now I can't install full font families anymore. Previously, for example, I only installed the 'bolt' of a font and it automatically installed the rest of the family from the download folder (light, regular, etc.). Now when I download a font from a family, for example bold; I can't download the rest anymore. So when I open illustrator, there is only 1 variant of the font in it. When I want to install the other variants; he removes the other variants again (hopefully this sounds clear 🫣)

This means that I can no longer work with complete font families; anyone the golden tip? 🤞

Same here. I try to use Mendl Sans. Add and install the whole family, but only 8 fonts show up.

Which system and version of Illustrator?

And you are  installing the font via Adobe Fonts?

It's a variable font, so can you use the variable input in the Characters panel?

Which version of Windows or Mac OSX are you using? Are you installing fonts via a font management application or installing directly into the OS (using the Windows fonts folder or the font book in OSX)?

 

What kind of fonts are you trying to install (OpenType, TrueType, Postscript Type 1)?

 

Is this problem you're experiencing happening with any type families you try to install? If you have a single style from a type family installed what happens if you remove that one font file and then try to install the entire family of fonts? Do certain styles still come up missing?

 

Are you running any other non-Adobe graphics applications while running Illustrator? For example, I've observed a conflict between Illustrator and CorelDRAW (and its Corel Font Manager app). If CorelDRAW is running certain font styles in some type families will disappear from the font menu in Illustrator. If I shut down both applications and re-launch Illustrator the missing fonts are restored in the font menu.

Im using a MacBook Pro with OS Ventura 13.0. When I download fonts I just click on the download map and the font will automatically open in the 'fonts catalog'. I have always installed fonts this way, but since half a year this is not possible anymore. Most of my fonts I take from Envato Elements. In the screenshots you can see that I've downloaded the 'black' and 'light' variant of the font; but I can only use one of them because the other one will automatically be deleted. It's strange for me because normally I didn't had to download each font separately, when I downloaded one variant; it would automatically downloaded the whole family. 

 

FYI: My colleague can download the exact same folder and at her MacBook (we have the same) everything is working fine.
