Font Organizer Plugin??

Hello, 
For years I have been struggling with font/typeface workflow in Illustrator. None of my favorites stay saved and I need to find a better way to organize and find my fonts while using the program. Is there a Font Organizer plugin that exists? I found one by a third party developer but it was pulled and discontuined in 2017.

Only thing you could do, is use a font management application.

I don't want to have to switch between two different applications while working. 
I already do that more than I'd like. I'm actually super surprised that there isn't a solid font orginizer plugin already, cuz I know Adobe ain't going to make the improvments.

That's not how font management works.

You set it up and then it can basically activate the necessary fonts for you. You probably don't even notice that it's there.

There is no other option.
