Hi there,
Another new bug to report on Adobe Illustrator 29.7.1 on a Mac running OS 13.7.5. I pasted some text into a text area box, and used the dropper to change the weight, only to find that the weight wouldn't change, or only would depending on the height and position of the text within a text area. All these new bugs never happened in the much more stable AI 2020. Here's a video showing this happen.
If this can be fixed please.
Many thanks!

Hi @creed.nz,
Thanks for sharing the details and the video. Could you confirm if this is happening only with the specific font you used or if you notice the same behavior with other fonts too? I tested this on Illustrator 29.8.1 on Windows 11 and did not face the issue. In the meantime, please try signing out and back into the Creative Cloud Desktop App and clearing your system font cache to see if the problem persists. Reference: https://adobe.ly/46bwe2s.
Looking forward to hearing how it goes.
Abhishek

Hi Abhishek, thanks for the message. I've tried your suggestion – signed out of Creative Cloud on my Mac, closed the apps, and cleared the Font Cache Files for Adobe products, and signed back in, and opened the apps, but the issue is still the same. Tried different fonts and same issue. I've tried switching to GPU Preview, but no change – also tried opening in Illustrator 2020 and no issues there, so just an issue in Illustrator 2025. If I copy and past the text box into a new doc, the issue persists. If I create a new text box from scratch, and paste the text in notepad first, there is no issue – so seems to be a corrupt text box, or formatting showing up incorrectly in 2025 version?
