fonts are running slow in illustrator

Hello,

Im am still using an illustrator cs6 version on my mac (mojave).

Since the update of OS i have problems with my fonts.

When i type in illustrator the text is coming really slow, i had the same issue in photoshop.

After cleaning my font cash on my mac, the the problem i gone in photoshop, but still exist in illustrator.

This is the only issue i have after updating my mac.

Is there a solution for this?

By the way i'm using suitcase fusion to manage my fonts.

Help.

You have updated your system beyond compatiblity.

You want to continue using Illustrator CS6? Fine, but just don't update your system beyond what works. Officially El Capitan is the last supported system.

I was hoping that this issue could have been caused by an OS bug that Apple fixed. The lag is definitely gone on my Mac after updating to 10.14.5. Illustrator CS6 runs smooth as ever, yay! Not sure if it may have been fixed in an earlier update though, I haven't been doing much work in Illustrator lately.

On my computer, I think it may be due to the window view setting. When I have the window set in the application frame, I find the typing lag to be much worse than if the window is not set in the application frame.

I also found that when I logged into a guest account, there was no lag when typing. On my guest account, it was defaulted to having the window set out of the the application frame, but when I set it in the application frame, there was a lag in typing again.

There are other people in my lab that have indicated they have not had this problem after updating to Mojave, so this may be anecdotal and isn't really a solution because I don't like having the window out of the application frame. However, it has seemed to work for me thus far, so it might be worth giving it a try.

    Just as i feared. Guess i'll have to join the adobe creative cloud.

    Hoped there was some way around this issue.

    I'm just curious why i could fix it in photoshop and not in illustrator.

    The lag isn't in guest mode. But in normal mode the whole text usage gets reaaaaaalllly slow. It's a shame nobody from adobe is answering any questions on the forum. I hear also people complaining about the current software. I would really like a stable and good functioning program witch i can use for a few years without paying every month.

    Thanks for confirming that. This is good news. That means Illustrator CS6 will run fine in Mojave, but we just have to find out what causes this issue. I'm reinstalling the app right now after a uninstalling, to see if things change.

    Dream on, really. Adobe's not into selling software anymore, only renting. The support folks on this forum all sing the same song (and shamefully, many users do too, what's up with that?): upgrade, upgrade, upgrade, pay Adobe, indefinitely.

    Many more software companies are going this route because it's insanely profitable. And that's all that counts, ever (not just "these days", but it has never been different).

    I'm still laughing at these ridiculously badly created Adobe CS6 installers that were outsourced to low labour cost countries about 15 years ago. Adobe went on a route where only profit counts, not originality or software quality. I know what I'm talking about, I've been using Illustrator since v1.1 on a Mac 512K.
