Fontself v Fontographer

Question

My company specialise in packaging artworks, using Adobe Illustrator.

We have used Fontographer in the past (for creating different Country identifier logos – ie GB / ES / TR etc; plus a number of other symbols.

However, through one reason or another –mainly because the software we had was very, very old – we don’t have access to the software any more. So we wondering about alternatives to Fontographer. I have seen something called FONTSELF, it appears to be very cheap compared with investing in a later version of Fontographer.

Would I be correct in saying that Fontself performs in a similar way to Fontographer?

Also Alternate Glyphs, Ligatures, color fonts and it can make families.You can watch my tutorial to see the functions: Making of my font »GeometricColor« with Fontself and Illustrator - YouTube If you need much more than that you need a font editor such as Fontographer, Glyphs App or the like.
