From pencil to smooth pencil, shortkey

Hello (sorry for my English),

I bought a new laptop and downloaded Illustrator CC (last version). I used to use CS6 until then.

My problem is: I use the pencil tool a lot for illustrations, and I usually click the Alt button (or Option) to quickly switch from pencil to smooth pencil, in order to easily smoothen my lines. But here on my new setup, when I press Alt (or Option), it turns the pencil into a straight-line-pencil, which is ridiculously useless. The only way I found to use the smooth pencil, is to click on the tool in the toolbar, and it takes much more time.

I also tried to go into the shortcut options to change it, but there is no way I can use Alt as a shortkey, it would be the all-time shortkey for this tool, which is obviously impossible with such a multitask key.

I hope you can help me, or explain why Pencil + Alt turns into this straight-line option.

Double-click on the pencil in the toolbar and check 'Alt key changes to Smooth Tool' in the options.

The circle is the Smooth tool cursor.
