We are having the same issue, and have been having it for awhile. We also find that running throught Acrobat helps, but is a hinderance for students as they have to make edits to the files in Illustrator and then open them in Acrobat; as they are just learning it is super frustration for them. Has anyone found a solution yet?
This is how i solved issue with media size /orientation and Epilog print driver and AI. Go to windows devices / Printer & Scanners. Find your Epilog Printer. Set it as default. Then 1. Click Printer Properties 2.Preferences. 3. Set paper (piece size) to whatever your print bed is, in my case it's 24"x18". This size will now be the default media whenever the epilog print driver opens.
