I'm writing this post to inform those that use CS6 and CC about the Plugins from Astute Graphics specifically Phantasm and Stipple. So far they work just as advertised. No hang ups or bugs to report. Stipple is fantastic and just like they wrote can be habit forming. The only downside to that plugin is that the stipples aren't live and therefore you have to expand the appearance once applied. That's not necessary if the artwork is to remain a raster image but is if it's converted to like an .svg image.
Phantasm on the other hand is something unique in that it truly give you the ability to change the brightness, hue, color, curves and other features of an image by layer or the whole image just as you can in Photoshop. works great
You get a 14 day trial period on all their plugins but they recommend that you install one or two at a time so you can manage your time period better and not all will expire at the same time as they are not retro-reactive. They're not cheap but they're also not overly pricey in my opinion.
I was pretty hot for these two plugins from the get-go so ill probably purchase them and a couple more after everything is said and done especially VectorScribe as that will give me round corners on the fly like that in the Illy CC versions as well as some neat measurement features like Hot Doors plugin has.
Before I sign off, I'd like ask if there are any others using Astute's plugin and what you think about them just for my FYI. Thanks for responding.
