Getting rid of leftover lines from slices

Hi, I'm having this problem with slices. When I make one, some lines prolonging from the slice's bounds appear, subdividing the screen. Eventually it gets covered in all sorts of lines and makes viewing the project much harder, especially if you intend to edit some of its content. I want to remove those lines from sight, and turning off the slices doesn't work. This seems like one of those really simple to fix things, but I couldn't find anyone ask or answer about it. Help is appreciated.
