Gradient around curve

Hello, i'm pretty new to illustrator, and now i'm stuck at this for hours and i don't know how to fix it.

So down here i have this corner, and what i'm trying to do is just to make a simple shadow around it using the gradient tool. But i can't figure out how to get the gradient around the corner smoothly withouth the colours being slightly different or without showing lines and stuff. I just want a simple gradient following al around the shape i have down here. (So just the little corner is missing atm). Would appreciate your help on how to fix it! thanks in advance!

You could try and apply a gradient to the stroke of an object.
