Gradient/Transparency Issues in Illustrator v29.1

Hello,

I'm encountering an issue with transparency in Adobe Illustrator, particularly when working with gradients and images that have transparent backgrounds. Instead of displaying the intended transparency, the transparent areas are appearing white.

Interestingly, when I save the document as an Adobe PDF or assign the color profile to sRGB (I'm working in a CMYK workspace for print), the transparency appears as expected.

Screenshots attached. Has anyone else experienced this issue? Any insights or suggestions on how to resolve this would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you!

Can you share an example file with the problem?

Save the file as .ai and rename the extension to .pdf or save the file as .pdf (with Illustrator editing checked) to be able to attach it to a post on this forum.

Tried uploading a .ZIP but it's not supported.

Attached are the following:

• PDF File

• Linked Image (Palm Tree PNG)

• Screen Capture of my workspace

Does it also happen in CPU preview?

So these are images you placed in Illustrator?

And gradients you created in Illustrator?

And then you exported them?

Or does this happen inside Illustrator?

When printing?

Hi Monika,

Correct, the images I placed in Illustrator and the gradients were created in Illustrator. It happens in the live working file. It prints fine, but its hard to visually work and achieve objectives during the designing process.
