For the 3D to work you would need to know how this looks from above. You need to curve the path in the correct way and only after that you can bring it into perspective.
I have one done that kind of stuff using Google Maps satellite images in order to get an aerial view of a place. So that was kind of complicated. You could eyeball it, but it will probably fail anyway.
But if you have it close, you could try and use a width profile on the path on top of the 3D.
