I must not be the only one having this problem. So, when I press spacebar and left mouse button (short-cut for ''hand'') the grid dissapears and after releasing the mouse button it apears back. The same when zooming in or out. The problem is fixable by disabling GPU acceleration, but then everything gets ''choppy''. I also tried to reinstall gpu drivers (intel iris xe), did a reinstall of Illustrator, put all the settings in default, etc. and nothing worked. I have version 27.8.1 of Illustrator installed.
I'm using Asus vivobook S X14.5 OLED (K5402) - i7 12700H
Any ideas how to fix this problem?
I have downgraded softwere to version 27.5 and this fixed the issue. I will just roll with it for now and update it sometimes later when this issue will be resolved

Might just be caused by the GPU.
Not enough memory for Illustrator on it, driver not fully compatible, something like that. Is that a studio driver?

I have no idea. I updated the drivers (GPU) to latest: Version: 31.0.101.4669 i don't think intel has seperate drivers for gaming and studio like Nvidia does. And i put everything in default settings too (graphic and adobe settings). It worked fine before but now after updating the adobe softwere the grid thingy is not working as it should.

I can see that behaviour on Mac, AI 27.8.1
Works in previous versions, so you may want to report it as a bug here:

Hi @KIKÅ¡tarter31972923g0nj,
Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention. I appreciate your patience and the details you've provided.
I can confirm that I've been able to replicate the issue you described on my system using Adobe Illustrator version 27.8.1 & v27.9 as well. It appears that the grid momentarily disappears when using shortcuts for panning or zooming, and it reappears after releasing the mouse button.
As you mentioned, disabling GPU acceleration seems to temporarily resolve the problem, but it can affect the overall performance of the application.
I will log this behavior as a bug with our product team for further investigation. It's crucial for us to address such issues to provide a smoother user experience in future updates.
Again, thank you for bringing this to our attention, and I'm sorry for any inconvenience you've experienced. If you have any additional information or encounter any other problems, please don't hesitate to share them. Your feedback helps us improve the product.
Best,
Anshul Saini

Panning works now in 27.9 but zooming unfortunately not.
