It's all right. Your Smily is grouped.
Question: Which selection tool do you use?
(Tip: Use the selection tool "Black Arrow" to select the group).

Maybe you are in Isolation Mode.
Exit isolation mode
Do one of the following:
Press Esc.
Click Exit Isolation Mode one or more times (if you’ve isolated a sublayer, one click takes you back a level, two clicks exits isolation mode).
Click anywhere in the isolation mode bar.
Click Exit Isolation Mode in the Control panel.
Using the Selection tool, double-click outside of the isolated group.
Right-click (Windows) or Control-click (macOS) and click Exit Isolation Mode.

Please show a screenshot with the "Smily" selected and the Layers Panel open and expanded (all selected elements should be visible in the hierarchy of the Layers Panel)
