Guides always locked when created

When I create a guide it's always locked even if the Guides Lock button is not activated. I always have to click on it twice. A first click to lock guides and a second click to unlock them. Then I can select and move guides normally. It has happened with any upgrade of Illustrator. Does anyone have the same problem? Why could this be? Is there any solution? Best regards!

What you can now do: since resetting the preferences is tedious, you could set everything in the way you need. Then Edit > My settings > Export. Keep them in a dry place. Whenever you need to reset, import those settings.

If you need to reset preferences too often, you might want to investigate why that happens.

no, you're not the only one. in fact, i've been having this exact problem for some time now. it's really annoying and i don't think there's a solution. just another bug Adobe has yet to fix.

That is not a general issue. You might need to reset your preferences.

Does this also happen when you create a file based on another preset than you normally use? Like Art & Illustration if you normally use Print?

Yes Ton, it happens all the time. This is a problem I have in every version of Illustrator I have had. I mean, with every upgrade the problem persist. It's annoying as I always have to go to the lock button (if I have zoomed in I have to zoom out to click off the table if I'm working with direct selection tool, then go to the lock button and click on it twice...) then zoom in again and so on...

I have even uninstalled Illustrator and installed it again in English (I use it in Spanish) and I had the same problem. I unistalled it again and installed it in spanish. Nothing, the problem continues... How can I reset preferences?

That is an option when uninstalling.
