Hello,

I am trying to create some halftones really just trying out in general and I was following tutorial to make it but for some reason when I should get a result for halftone nothing seems to happen but when I zoom in on my object I noticed everything is still black but now I have tiny white dots that sorta look like a pattern. Hard to explain so I attached a picture of what I mean.

How do I fix this?

HI, it looks like the density of black is too high to show the desired result.

Can you specify the version of illustrator and OS you are using.

Can you describe the steps you are following, maybe a couple of screenshots of your process would help determine what settings need tweaking.

Using Illustrator CC on a Windows 10.

What I do is I create my object then I do the follwing Effect > Pixelate > Color Halftone followed by Max Radius 20 and all the channels on 90.
That's really all I do.

Please show the complete object, before and after and also a screenshot of the tutorial of what you want to achieve.

Please upload all images directly to the forum, so we don't need to click on links.

What are the color values of the fill that you use for the Color Halftone effect?

What does your original object look like before trying to add the pixelate halftone effect?

You could try typing in a smaller radius value. It may be that your max radius of 20 is too large. The larger the number, the larger the dot pattern will be.

@Monika Gause

I have noticed that when I use colour in the object it looks odd but in black it shows as I have linked in the first picture. But I will show here what I do:

Create an object in this case I made a Square covering the entire artboard just to show you - https://ibb.co/gvreLf

Then I go to Effect > Pixelate - https://ibb.co/mr7at0

After that, I put any radious, doesn't matter what I choose the end result is the same as the halftone always ends up the same, and channels I always put with same value, this time I put 0 - https://ibb.co/nBmFRL

Then halftone appears like this if coloured - https://ibb.co/cKL9mL

If I make it black is like the first picture I posted...

Try a lighter gray instead of black.

Addie,

Can you try to first do a gradient fill of white to black, then apply your pixelate effect?
