i'm currently using photoshop to piece together and lay out a wall wrap advertisement to be placed in an airport.

I know photoshop isn't capable of printing something at this size & illustrator needs to be used.

my question is, how do you get the hd photos in the design to not print out looking like cartoons?

i'll drop a screenshot to show you guys what i'm talking about....

If by "cartoon" you mean that you don't want the finished version to look like an obvious collection of dots then you will need to make sure that your Photoshop Images will have a final resolution of approximately 100 ppi (pixels per inch) at 100% of the size. This assumes that you're talking about something that is for a wall that people will be walking by rather than getting as close to as a book or magazine (which would need to be about 300 ppi at 100%). Something that would be viewed from a greater distance could even have a lower resolution such as the standard 72 ppi.

not sure why you can't work from Photoshop if you want to. if they are HD photos and 300dpi at the size you can use for the finished size of the print document you will be fine.

What is the size of the poster you need to make? what are the sizes of the images?

Not sure why you are posting in the illustrator forum if you are working photoshop. is that a mistake or did you mean to say you are working in illustrator?

Happy to help if you give more background/information.

With those dimensions the 100 ppi (at 100%) I said in my first post should be good.
