Hallo

I have a circle and two lines that I would like to combine, so that it will be sort of an open rectangle with one end rounded, but I am not sure how the easiest way is to accomplish this.

I have attached two screenshots to clarify before and somewhat after.

Thanks.

Ulf,

Smart Guides being your friends, (one of) the easiest way(s) is to:

1) Rotate the circle and rotate it by 45 degrees, then ClickDrag over the bottom right (across the Anchor Point and two segments) with the Direct Selection Tool and press (the) Delete (key) to have a rotated half circle;

2) ClickDrag each of the line ends by the top left end Anchor Point to snap to the corresponding circle end Anchor Point;

3) Select evertything and Ctrl/Cmd+J to Join.

Or in a different way to get an open rounded rectangle.

Drag a rectangle.

Select the bottom line with the Direct Selection tool and delete it.

Drag the top corner widgets to round it.
