I am wondering if someone can help me learn how to acheive this:

I need to recreate this for a logo.

Am I just overlooking this and it's actually something so simple?   I have tried perspective and warp but it's just not turning out right.

Thank you for your help!

As Kurt mentioned, Text on a path and Options are your friend.

To help you out, here are a few steps I did for this example.

Set your area text, larger tracking. Paragraph, center align

Draw an ellipse. Only need half.

Create Text on Path

Finally Type>Type on Path>Skew.

Which version of Illustrator are you using?

Have you already explored all the ways you can go with Type on a Path objects?

I attached a logo I'm working on (page 03. world) that I want the text to wrap around the sphere like the Universal logo does in the jpeg I also attached. Would you know how to create text that has the perspective of wrapping/revolving around a sphere? Like the Universal Studios logo? I want looking directly eye level at the type, not looking up at it, like in the Universal logo.

Make a dummy cylinder and apply the text as artwork to it with the 3D effects (the classic ones)

I'll try it, thank you. I never use the 3d tool. Will do it.
