Help with removing part of a shape

Hi All,

I am trying to remove the part of the shape to the left of the bold centre line. When I use the shape builder tool it makes weird shapes (as seen in picture 2).

I am looking for another way to remove everything to the left of the bold centre line to leave the shape to the right in-tact.

Thanks in advance.

Harry

Looks like you didn't outline strokes first.

Thanks for the reply!

Once I outline the stroke and try the shapebuilder tool to delete elements it makes this effect...

Any ideas?

Hi,

First of all I would duplicate everything, so you have a back up.

You can do this by dragging and dropping your Layers onto the create New Layer icon on the at the bottom of the Layers Palette.

Next Select your shapes and Strokes and go Object> Expand

Then you can use the Eraser Tool (Shift+E) and erase the specific areas you would like to remove.

I hope this helps,

Sim
