Highlight the text when Text and background same colour

Hi guys

 I'm printing with AI into a black material, the colour I'm printing is white so i have a white block on my canvas but I'm putting text inside which is clear so it's making it very difficult to see the text in the box. Is there anyway to highlight the text that won't show up in print?

Outline mode? Other than that I would simply use a stand-in color that you can replace at the last minute or re-interpret in your printer driver.

You can use the Outline mode as Mylenium said. 
You can also use View> Hide Transparency Grid. It may help.
