Hi guys,
I'm shocked to have found that appartently there is no hotkey to delete a layer in Illustrator. It's very time consuming to pull the layer down to the little trash can everytime. I think ideally, you could press a single key to send the highlited layer to the trash can, much like how you can send a selected object to a highlited layer with the backslash hotkey "\".
Here's where I heard that it doesn't exist. https://graphicdesign.stackexchange.com/questions/71644/how-can-i-quickly-hide-or-delete-a-layer-in-...
I tried recording the action and assigning it to F12, but had no success.
Do you guys have any tips on this? Maybe we need to make the request to Adobe to implement this in the next version?
Thanks,
Joel
Highlighting the layer in the panel and then clicking on the trashcan does it. THat can be recorded as an action. Then you can assign a shortcut to it.

Currently "Ctrl+Delete" is not in use. That could make sense for this I think.
