How can I add or import a font into Illustrator?

In Illustrator a font I want to use is not listed, but it is present on the computer. How can I add or import it in Illustrator?

If it is an Asian font: Preferences > Type > Show Font Names in English

Yes, it is, for example, in Word avviable.

The name is Calibri, not Calibri light and it isn't a Asian font.

Calibri can be bundled with MS Office and not be visible to non MS applications.

You can use Adobe fonts to install it for Illustrator.

I find a font. I activate it. But now what I havt to do that is working with my Illustrator?

It really depends on if you have a Mac or PC.

Usually you download the font from whatever website or source.  Once it downloads, double click on it.  This will bring up an installer.  Once it is installed it will be usable in any application on your computer.... Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Microsoft word.

Now if you want to go further down the Rabbit Hole... there are programs out there that will manage your fonts.  If you have 1000s.  You can group them and even turn them on and off.  This can come in useful if you are designer.

Iuse a PC. But on your Font-page (https://fonts.adobe.com/) I'm not able to download the font. I can only activate or deactivate them.

If you Activate the font it should become visible in Illustrator.
