Having recently switched from CS6 to the cloud- I'm unable to use the VAG font. Several older projects of mine use VAG! Yikes! Can you help me solve this problem? A gazillion thanks!
You should buy OTF versions of the fonts.
A quick search showed the VAG rounded on Myfonts and on Fontshop.

Is that a PostScript Type 1 font? Tey are no longer supported.

Monica, thanks for your reply. But - is it possible to help me understand this? What is a postscript font - and how are people working around this? Surely there have to be MOBS of eople who use them.
And most of all - WHY would Adobe do this?
Does Canva support them? Again, thanks!

There is an FAQ here:
This does not come as a surprise. OTF fonts have been here for around 20 years. PostScript Type 1 is an old technology that has been causing a lot of issues.
The easiest way around wopuld be to install a version back as long as this is still possible and then keep it as long as your operating system allows.

Thanks again. To clarify: are you saying that I should use it in earlier versions of illustrator cloud?

If you want to keep using that font and not update the font files (which would mean buying new fonts), then that's your only choice. Version 2022 should do.
You could check if that font is available in Adobe Fonts.

Thanks! I'd happily buy new fonts. I wasn't aware of that option.
So - buy non-otf font versions? Sorry I'm so unclear on this font stuff! can you tell me where I could buy that?

Are there instructions on how to use AI 2022? Many thanks. I've never done that

You need to install it via the Creative Cloud app. https://helpx.adobe.com/download-install/using/install-previous-version.html
Once it's installed, make sure you set up the Creative Cloud in a way that it doesn't automatically update and delete old versions.
