how do I access data recovery after I accidentally clicked cancel during data recovery?

My laptop crashed while I was working on my illustrator file but thankfully auto save was there and there was an option of "replace" "ignore" or "cancel" presented before I could access it. However I accidentally clicked "cancel" and now I cannot find that file anywhere. It should still be in my laptop since it showed me that it had auto saved right? Or is it completely gone because I clicked "cancel"? Please help.

It is deleted when you choose to not recover it.

Do you by any chance have Time Machine or the like? Maybe it saved it (very slight chance).
