How do I clear the clip board in Adobe Illustrator?

What version are you on?

In the latest version when you close the application down you can clear the clipboard at that point.

Or just drag a small rectangle of empty space on the edge of the artboard and copy that.

This will clear the previously copied object but it won't clear the clipboard as you can still 'undo' multiple times, and all that memory is being stored and slows down illustrator.

Undo has nothing to do with the clipboard.

Also if you have any system based clipboard "enhancer", that is something else.

That wasn't the question, but as far as I know you have to save, close, and reopen the document (not the program) to clear the undos.
