Hi there,

Is anyone able to tell me how to remove the checkerboard background from an image that I have downloaded from Adobe stock? I have downloaded it to use over the top of an image in photoshop but I cannot seem to figure out how to remove the checkerboard in illustrator. I have followed one online guide that says to delete the checkerboard layer in illustrator. However, when I open up the layers there are about 500 of them and I cannot see a checkerboard layer to enable me to delete it. I am very new to Adobe. Any help will be very much appreciated!

The image number is : #185974084

Thank you!

Lindsey

Looks like you just need to delete the bottommost clip group, which looks grey. That one you haven't selected.

Open the layers panel.

There you should see the quares or maybe they are on their own layer. You can delete them.

Try to select only the last Clip Group (in your last screenshot) and make this group invisible. If this group the wanted "checkerboard background" is - delete this group.
