Within the last few weeks I have noticed that Illustrator is saving a backup copy of my file each time I save. I have multple backup copies for each file. How do I turn off this "save backup" feature ?

Which folder is this? Your Creative Cloud folder?

Illustrator doesn't do this. It's either a feature of your system, some plugin, a feature of a synchronized drive or Illustrator is somehow unable to write on that volume.

Hello @donaldr81414377 ,

Thanks for reaching out. As suggested by Monika, there might be some other program in your system creating those files. The file recovery in Illustrator doesn't make .bak files. I would request you try contacting your IT support team to get help.

Kindly update this thread if you need further assistance. We'd be happy to help.

Thanks,

Anubhav
