How do you import 100's of svgs into an illustrator cc library?

I have a folder of over 500 separate svgs that I've collected and would like to add them to a new asset cc library. Is there a way to import them all from the folder rather than opening each individual svg file and dragging and dropping them into the library panel? That seems pretty tedious.  Or also if not, is there a script I can write to do this manually for me? Sort of like recording actions in Photoshop.

You can only add to CC Libraries using Applications.

Illustrator allows you to open SVG files, but when added from Illustrator, you will add Illustrator objects and no SVG objects to a CC library.

Browsers will only allow you to view and manage (rename and delete) files in a CC library, but unfortunately not add them.

Adobe Creative Cloud Libraries

Update:

Good news about adding files to CC libraries.

According to Fernando a new feature allows you to drag multiple files from the desktop to the Library

There is no easy way to do this. I agree that there really needs to be. The browser version of Creative Cloud is probably your best option. The browser allows you to upload files directly to a Library without having to first open it in an application. However you still have to do it one image at a time.

Just tested it and it works with SVG files!

Oops. Ton is correct. I confused the browser version with the mobile app version. You can upload content directly to a CC Library using the app on a mobile device. However I don’t know if there is an easy way to get the svg files to the mobile device so they can be uploaded.

I went to the browser version at creative.adobe.com, and it looks like Adobe might be in the process of changing it. It now resolves to assets.adobe.com and Libraries appears in that menu. If you click on it, it takes you to assets.adobe.com/libraries with a message that reads, "Libraries aren't here yet, but we're moving them soon."

Yes Myra, the message was not there this morning, but it looks they are changing something.

Keep my fingers crossed.

Maybe it's good to do a feature request to upload (multiple) files to a CC library using a web interface:

I have a GOOD NEWS!!

You can bulk import all the svg files in batches to Illustrator and record an action to save as AI file and close it. Then run this as an action to save the other svg files. This might help you do it a bit faster.

Cheers!!
