How to add bullet points to a path.

I'm making a resume and I need to have a line with bullet points (example below) that I can adjust as I change the content. I'm not quite sure what to search for in regards to a tutorial. Cheers.

I would try custom arrowheads. But you won't be able to do this in 1 line, you would need to draw 3 lines for your example.

This is not an automatic feature in Illustrator. The bullet can be set up automatically, but the vertical line will require some manual adjustment whenever the amount of text changes.

This is how I would set it up:

  1. With the Type tool, drag to create a text frame.
  2. Add your text.
  3. In the paragraph panel, set up left indent and first line indent similar to this:
  4. Open the Type > Glyphs panel. In front of each paragraph, I inserted a large bullet from the Dingbats font to make the bullet stand out more. but you can choose any type of bullet you want.
  5. I then selected just the bullet and gave it a black fill and a thick white stroke. The white stroke creates the gap between the line and the bullets.
  6. Draw a vertical line and Object > Arrange > Send to back.
  7. When the amount of text changes you'll need to change the height of the vertical line.
