Question

How to add multiple artboards to. a CC Library as separate files?

I have an Illustrator file with 50+ artboards each with a different icon on them. On each artboard there is an icon and an unfilled/unstroked rectangle the size of the artboard grouped with the icon. Each group is named with the description and color of the icon as I have sets of the same icon in different colors on different layers. I want to know if there is a way to add all of groups (artboards) for each color layer to a CC Library at once and have them show up in the library as a separate item, retaining the group name I have given each of them.

I'm trying to avoid having to drag each of them in individually.

Save the .ai file into a folder with the option checked to save the artboards to separate files.

Select all the resulting files in the folder and drag them to a CC library.

My project has 87 artboards, so I was excited to see your suggestion. Unfortunately, I don't see any option to save it as separate artboards. Am I looking in the wrong place or will it do it automatically? Is there a problem with me using an AIC file saved as PDF? I need the files in a library to place in InDesign for a book.

Hi Chris, you need to save the cloud .aic file as an .ai file by choosing On your computer during Save As...

You can then save it to a folder on your hard disk and select the "Save each artboard to a separate file" option.

When done you can drag the contents of the folder to a CC Library panel.

I am looking for a solution to this as well...

I have an .aic file and want to export the art boards as separate files into a CC library without having to save or export any files locally.

Straight from .aic directly into CC library. Is that an option yet?
