How-To Apply gradient from swatches

Check this out, you don't necessarily need to put colors manually in gradient, just Alt+Drag and Drop the Swatches to Gradient.

Or select multiple swatches and choose Create Gradient from the Swatches panel menu (in Illustrator 2025).
