How to Change ALREADY Horizontal Type to Vertical (AI 2020)

Hello! Is there a way to change type that's already horizontal to vertical without having to go in and rotate each character or is the fastest way to just type everything over fresh with the vertical type tool? Thanks!

Can you post a screenshot that may clarify a bit (current state and desired state)?

I don't have time to do that right now I'm not at the computer but if it needs clarification then my guess is the answer is it doesn't have the feature I'm talking about built-in and I have to just do it myself. Thanks anyway!

It's not clear how you have your type positioned or if you need to keep it editable, but if you don't need the text to be editable, you can convert the text to outlines (Type > Create Outlines), ungroup (Object > Ungroup), and select all the outlined letters and use Transform Each (Object > Transform > Transform Each...). Transform Each will let you apply the same rotation to multiple selected objects around their individual reference points.

Rather than retyping you could just copy the text and insert it into a vertical type object.

Wouldn't that be sufficient?

What I meant is if all of the text is already positioned and sized exactly where you want it in horizontal orientation, is there a way to just change the character orientation to vertical so everything stays how and where it is, the characters just rotate. Or do you have to manually rotate each character or retype it (whether pasting it or literally typing it over, it doesn't matter)?
