Hi !
Since I upload the last version of Illustrator I d'ont have the capacity to change the defaults save location in Illustrator (that save to the cloud),
The option "default file location" on "file handling" has been removed for an unknow reason.
Thanks you !
Marie
I understand your concern. If you prefer saving files on your computer and the cloud default setting keeps popping up, it might be due to a preferences issue. Here's a step-by-step guide to help you resolve this:
Launch Adobe Illustrator.
Before saving a file, check the "Don't show again" option on the cloud saving prompt.
Save the file to your computer once, and it should remember this choice for future saves.
If you have already saved a file with the "Don'

Yes, the option was removed. The location should just be whatever you used last.

I haven't seen the cloud popup since I first selected 'On your computer'. The intended behaviour is that you just see your last-chosen location until you select otherwise. If you're seeing the cloud location every time despite selecting local storage then I'd imagine preferences aren't being saved properly. Have you tried resetting prefs and trying again?

This should help Adobe Illustrator remember your preference for saving files on your computer. If you continue to experience issues, please let me know, and we can explore further solutions.

This did not work for me - I followed your advice but it still comes up and tries to default to cloud every time.
Is there no registry setting or hidden option to force it to let us default to local and not use cloud?

Thank you for trying the suggested solution, @Tananda_D. If the issue persists, clarifying the steps taken to ensure we cover all possibilities might be helpful. Please confirm if you have reset Illustrator preferences and then tried the steps.
If the issue persists, there may not be a direct registry setting for this in Illustrator, but we can explore other possibilities.
Best,
Anshul

So, interestingly enough it did start working - Not sure why it kept going back to the cloud thing but its almost like "it FINALLY got a clue I didn't want to use cloud"
I also think what happened was that it worked after doing a save but when I did a saveas it came up again.. and then another time the first time I did a save as copy but now save, save as and save a copy all seem to be not bothering to try to save to cloud.
I know the cloud is a big part of things, but I'm very used to a fully local workflow...
Thank you for reaching out.

Yes, The option "default file location" has been removed and when you Save or Save As, the Box save to the web ALWAYS shows up. I'm searching for an hour and not find a way to turn it off.
It seems like they are forcing you to use Cloud to collect your work data or something.
