Do you want to do this on a German system?

In that case you have to uninstall the German Illustrator version and install only English.

thank you!
Yes, I wanna switch from German to English. I tried to deinstall. I am at
no point able to select a language. It´s all time automatically installed
in German. I set my account to English.
There is no chance!
Why you do not have the same preference setting as in Adobe Substance At
least I can switch now the language there easily.
I checked the internet and support forum. Seems this is an issue since a
while.

Coming back to your solution. Do you have some further details? My full
Creative Cloud is in German and always want to switch to Dutch when I go on
the side, because I am sitting in Amsterdam.

I do not use vpn.

No, it's related to the language of my PC.
The only thread i found was about changing the PC language and delete
things from folders. I will not change things on my PC. I'm a Designer and
not IT specialist.
Seriously, why is Adobe so keen to connect with my computer language? And
why is it so hard to change?

It's not difficult.

I have 11 languages on my computer. If you want to have a different language in the system than in Illustrator, then that version musst be the only one. Otherwise you have to change the system language in order to run Illustrator in the same language.

 

You probably have not uninstalled all that is left from the original language.

In the Creative Cloud app you can just change the install language. And then it gets installed in that lnguage.

No, I tried everything! I just deinstalled today and again it came back in
German. I spend every few weeks to find a solution. It always eats up time
and is so frustrating.
Why is Adobe not accepting the language change to English? I followed all
instructions on the side. I deinstalled and installed again. This is really
not user friendly. You also not able to tell me what i can do.

This forum is 95% not Adobe staff (staff is marked as such). And we cannot see into your computer.

So you might want to contact Customer Care so they can check it out inside your system. https://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html 

Because it's not a general issue either.
