I recently made a bunch of paths into a vector portrait. I made so many that the app is kinda slow now. I want to combine all the paths into one shape or image. But whenever I try nothing works the way I want. I just want the paths made into a single layer so the app isn't so slow.

Can you show what you have, including a sample of the layer structure? There may be various actions you can take, but it's not always possible or desirable to combine things in the way you seem to expect.

If all that you want to do is combine all of the layers into one then you can do that by selecting all of the layers in the Layers Panel and then using the "Merge Layers" command in the Layers Panel pull-down menu. Doing this, though, may actually make working on the drawing more difficult in terms of selecting different objects within it that may be behind other objects. Having the multiple layers makes it easier to navigate.

If the portrait is going to remain photo-realistic is it really necessary to convert the image into vector form? It may work better to merely draw a path around the edge of the woman's shape and use it as a clipping path to hide the rest of the source photograph.
The pixel grid in the original photo is probably going to contain more detail and texture than a live-traced vector conversion. I would only want to convert a photo of someone or something into vector form if I was going to do something stylistically different to the image so it doesn't look like a photo. It would have a more graphical appearance. The artwork might not require as many paths to be drawn either. Various elements can be abstracted.

Your art has too many anchor points and paths. If you combine all these paths, it'll make it one color and you will loose all the details. If that's how you want your artwork to look like, you will need to keep those paths as they are.

You can try to simplify the paths. THis won’t reduce the number of objects but it will reduce the number of points on the objects.
You could also save the image as a separate file and place that.
