OCR is your only real option here. This is the result I got from Acrobat:

    QDC%TKJC%755%O98w1tTyJGb • SHELDTON Z. LITSEY· YJT@QWEST.NET · 1077850933 · F •

    GqiYVWtRO0#/1%@· UOO%O98w1tTyJG • JAWYS30J%&11il •

    COMMUNITY HOSPITAL· Sacramento· 22316 • FL •

    2914 s. BELMONT ST.· Henderson· 45310 •

    34500000 • KG82542901 • 61133 • N • BOK!d808m7XXC30

I can see a few errors but it seems reasonably accurate.

I haven't tried this, so I'm not sure how well it would work. Astute Graphics' Vector First Aid v2 has a feature called Unoutline Text that converts outlined text to editable text. I'm wondering if it would work if you used Image Trace to get the outlines of the text and then applied it. You would need the original font on your machine.

It doesn't work that way. The unoutline feature compares lettershapes. And for this point placement is crucial. The autotrace will never place points the exact way that is generated when you outline text.

    Dear All,

Thanks for the replies attached image for your information and format is .JPG

I tried OCR software but accuracy i got only 50 to 60% yeah maybe because image fonts not clear.

That is why i came to Adobe now if anything possible in Adobe?

I think it is not possible to extract a text from a given image, there are some apps that is meant for that case, but if you will try it in illustrator, maybe you can trace the text (given if the text is largely printed)

    Hi.

    You have a few options.

First using Photoshop by making a copy of your image & working on that copy so the original stays safe. to do this you need to work to turn your image into a black and white and .....

Second way is to use Illustrator ..there are two ways to do this . first turn your image into a black and white then

    1- trace it.

    or

    2-use a pen tool.

the third method is to use a software with OCR. like acrobat...

the fourth solution, you could Send it to me to do it for you

if its an image the text is not selectable. you can't copy it. you need to type it.

want to show us a screenshot of what you want to do?

It isn't strictly true that you can't extract text from an image. There are programs called OCRs that can do it, and how effective depends on the many factors. But there isn't an Adobe product that will help you out if that is what you are looking for, unless you have a few very well defined words that you can use image trace on and then of course they will not be text based, but an object.

You'll have to give much more information before we can help you. What kind of image are you talking about? Is it a .psd or .tiff with layers and live (editable) type? Or is it a flattened image in which the type is part of the image? If it is flattened then it is not really text anymore and can't be separated.
