I am quite sure this is documented a gazillion times already in youtube but my struggle with how to describe what I want is likely the issue why I cannot find instructions. So I post here in the hope the community can guide me.
I have a background image. It is a photo of our universe, a galaxy to be precise.
Now I want to put a text on that image. But I do not want that text to be smack in the face, I want it to have the same "color" as the background (like, if the text would be transparent) but extrude 3d from the bacground so the text is visible.
Similar to neumorphic design
So I would end up with a text "carved" out of the background or I am also fine with "shaped out/sculpted out"
For example, in Maya or Blender, those are exactly the terms: sculpting.
One would "sculpt" a text on a wall for example to make it "extrude" with the exact same texture as the wall has.
So - how would I go about it?
How do I make a text "carved or sculpted out of the background"?
Thank you!
First of all I would do that kind of thing in Photoshop. Bevel & Emboss effect.
The result won't be vector based anyway, so Photoshop will be fine.
