I am trying to delete the inner (yellow) stroke around the letters in the logo below, so that the underlying/background color shows in place of the yellow. I feel like there is a simple way to do this that I am just overlooking. Any help is much appreciated!

Set the opacity of the yellow stroke to 0% in the appearance panel.

Then in the Opacity setting for the complete text object check "knockout group"

You might need to turn on View > Preview on CPU
