Hi.

I'm very new to photo editing/designing. I have a problem and I've searched for some video on Youtube to find the answer I need but nothing helps.

How to do something like checkerboard, but with different shape? In my case, I wanted to do a group of parallel same-size triangle to design a tshirt.

A quick example is; I wanted to design something like Spain Football team's Away Jersey they wore for Euro 2016 (the white jersey with orange design on it).

Hope you guys could help. Thanks!

    Start with the polygon tool.

While the mouse is pressed, you can press the up and down arrows to change the number of edges. Then press Shift to make it horizontal.

    Turn on Smart guides.

With the selection tool grab one corner and move with shift and alt pressed until it snaps. Then Object > Transform > Transform again.

    Then move complete row vertical

Then use live paint tool to colorize

And so on. Read the documentation about how to

    - use the shape tools

    - select stuff

    - align stuff

    - live paint stuff

You can access the documentation via the Help menu

Pattern fill for a basic pattern:

However you would need to search for how to make a seamless repeating tile pattern if you wish to use a non-standard shape.

    Googling:

    illustrator seamless pattern

    Should get you started…

We can move this thread—you don't have to repost.

Most people do this in Illustrator; some use Photoshop. What are you using?
