Thanks for reaching out. Exporting artboards individually as DXF directly from Illustrator is not possible. However, you can use a workaround by saving each artboard as a separate AI file (File > Save As), and then exporting those AI files to DXF using action or script.
If you're familiar with scripting or actions, you may automate this process. Otherwise, consider exploring third-party solutions or scripting resources that could assist in batch-exporting AI files with multiple artboards to a separate DXF file.

I've just had this problem and I was able to solve it by selecting the artwork and 'Export As ...' just the selected artwork as a .dxf file. No other artwork else was exported despite being visible on screen.
