How to find out the image size in illustrator CS6?

I am trying to find out the height and width of an image in illustrator CS6 and I don't know how to do it.

Hi,

You must click "select" the image, then go to the control panel

why are some PPIs a single number and others are dimensions ex: :"50x40"?

The image has been scaled unproportionally.

Check the info palette, the link panel, the artboard tool - whatever you may be referring to. It's completely not clear what you actually mean.
