London Fashion Week Brand Identity
Hello everybody, I really admire the work from Pentagram for the London Fashion Week AW18.
(see: https://www.pentagram.com/work/london-fashion-week-aw18/story)
Now I just liked to know how they did those gradient transperant effect (probably with gradient and then they putted a grain effect texture to it?) and later on intersecting two font styles.
I'd like to make a similar effect and intersecting the fonts way more like the following images should explain.
It would be really helpful If somebody can show me how to make this effect or tell me what tutorials I need to understand!
Thanks in advance!
Intersecting Fonts
There are a couple of ways to do the texture effect. One is native to Illustrator. Make a gradient fill in your shape, select the shape, and go to Effect > Texture > Grain. Set it to the intensity, contrast, and grain type that you like. The second way is with a plugin from Astute Graphics called Stipplism. https://astutegraphics.com/plugins/stipplism

For the interwoven letter effect, set your type and the size and placement for both versions. Select all the text and convert them to outlines (Type > Create Outlines or Shift + Ctrl/Command + O). Select the Shape Builder Tool and drag over the overlapping parts that you want to look like are behind the type.

Hello Myra, thanks for helping me. What do you think how was the gradient transperant effect of the font made? Where should I put more research in to make similar effects?
Thanks in advance
