Hi William,

There are several ways

  1. Add the new artboard, then reorder the artboards in the panel. Here I have 1,3,2 in the panel
  2. From the panel menu, choose Rearrange all Artboards.
  3. Select options and Okay

Or Type "Shift+O" for the Artboard tool and drag the artboards into position.

Jane, thank you for this.  using these steps i was able to insert the artboard where i wanted it.  i did try using the artboard tool and dragging but it didnt allow the new artboard to slip into position by moving the others down or over.  it just dropped it on top of where ever i dropped it to.  drag and drop should work but it doesnt.

Hi William,

You're welcome. If you use the Artboard tool, the new artboard won't slip into position — the others also have to be dragged to a new position. I'm glad the first method worked.

If you find yourself doing this regularly then InDesign might be the better tool for the job.
