I've been taking an online Illustrator class, and when the guy in the video is making an ellipse, for example, the width and height values always appear as whole numbers while he drags the mouse -- I'll see the width values as he drags appear as 482, 488, 496, and he can stop on an even 500pt. When I do the same thing, however, my width and height values are all decimels -- I get 497.37, 498.88, 500.39, and the only way to get a number between 498.88pt and 500.39pt is to enter it manually or zoom in.
Is there a setting somewhere that will make Illustrator prefer or snap to whole numbers over decimels in a situation like this? Why can't I drag to an even 500pt like the video's instructor does?
